| Annual Fire Truck Pump Testing – South Bossier Fire District #2
Annual pump testing is a critical part of maintaining emergency readiness for any fire department. At South Bossier Fire District #2, this annual testing ensures our apparatus pumps are functioning properly and capable of delivering the required water pressure and flow during real-world emergencies.
Conducted according to NFPA 1911 standards, pump testing is not only essential for safety—it also provides official documentation that verifies performance, supports apparatus maintenance records, and helps maintain our insurance rating.
This procedure evaluates a pump’s performance at various capacities and pressures. If any issues are found, they are documented, addressed immediately, and the apparatus may be removed from service until repairs are complete. This process builds a clear paper trail, protecting the integrity of our fleet and the safety of our firefighters and community.
In partnership with a third-party testing company, South Bossier ensures that all documentation is accurate, traceable, and stored for the life of each apparatus. Apparatus maintenance is also performed in advance to ensure each truck is test-ready.
Annual fire truck pump testing is more than just a checkbox—it’s a commitment to operational excellence, firefighter safety, and public trust. |
