South Bossier Fire

South Bossier Fire District Two was established in August of 1985.  The original members would take turns housing the apparatus at their homes to wait for emergency calls.  Now, South Bossier Fire has six stations located through out the district.  There are six engines, one reserve engine, two tankers, three service trucks, one quick attack (grass truck), a water rescue boat, and a maintenance truck.  The district covers 162 square miles, mostly agricultural and oil and gas sites.  The population served of South Bossier Fire District Two is approximately 6,000.

South Bossier Fire District Two began with all volunteers, then with one full time personnel working Monday through Friday 8-5pm during the week with part-time personnel and volunteers.  Beginning February 1, 2006 the department will have three full-time shift personnel working 24/7 between three shifts along with all the volunteers and a paid fire chief.  The department is continuing to grow and welcomes volunteers.  For information regarding volunteering, please email sbfd2admin@bellsouth.net or call 318-987-2555.
